i ran 5 miles at the greenway yesterday with my oldest. he is going to run the thanskgiving half on thursday morning as well. he hasn't trained but is very fit and should do fine at my friends pace. i was going for negative splits so when i tured around at the 2.5 mile marker, my goal was to beat the first 2.5 miles. i did by 1 minute.
we went to the expo today. i was over the moon to see i was finally placed in a close corral! based on my predicted time of 2:08, they put me in the second corral. wow!! but i'll be starting in the back with my friend and am just excited to run with her. i guess from recently running a marathon, i think of a half as fun and easy. but i surely didn't for many years.
today at the expo, the atlanta track club revealed the new atlanta marathon - in the fall! and, if you register early, it's 55 dollars - whoa nelly!! so now there is one here in the spring and fall. i technically would never have to travel for a marathon as long as we are here. but i still would love to try the chicago marathon... i walked by both tables, very tempted to sign up for both. but i didn't. yet...

Hope you have a great 1/2! Sounds awesome!
I, of course, liked how you mentioned Chicago! :) I hope we can make it happen.
