post marathon week

bradford pear trees are so pretty but oh so stinky!!
(ran 5 miles monday mentioned in previous post)

wednesday - ran 6 miles. probably a little too hard since my legs felt pretty tired that night.

thursday - an easy pace 3 miles. just wanted to get out and enjoy the warm sun air :)

saturday - ran 8 miles - walked a minute after each mile just to give my legs a break. i've been feeling fine all week but have been cautious to not over do it since i just ran a marathon last saturday.

i decided to go ahead and run the marathon here next sunday. it's hard to ignore a big race that's 30 minutes away when i feel ready. there won't be any here again until the fall. it's just about the same hilly route as the one i ran in october. my only goal is to just get out, run, and have some fun! i'll either make or break myself!

next week, i will run one or two short easy runs and walk and  probably no running 3 days prior. i'm actually excited!

this is an excellent article on foot drills that have been shown to significantly reduce injury. i've been trying to do them more diligently the past month. i DO need to do them daily (my man does now!), so i'm making a chart to follow and check off foot drills, planks, crunches and push ups. some basics that can only do some good!
