| broke out the leggings today... my kids call me zebra! |
so last week, post marathon, i ran twice - a 3 miler and a 5 miler. that was enough. i really wanted to run more but i could just tell, runners intuition, i needed to just take it easy.
this week:
tuesday - i ran 5 miles with my oldest. the weather was perfect! 60, sunny, a gentle breeze, and great conversation. can't. beat. that. :)
wednesday - 5 mile run in great weather again... i need sun so i'm grateful for days like this :)
thursday - thanksgiving day! just drop dead gorgeous weather! i ran 6 miles with a very very thankful he♥art. :)
saturday - 10 chilly and windy miles. i bundled up and dreamed of trying to run 40 miles before i turn 41 mid january... still wondering if i could/should... it would be a self supported run somewhere around town.
my shoes... oh my shoes... once i find something that fits, i like it pretty much forever. and that's how i've felt about my asics nimbus. been through the 12's, 13's, and now the 14. and the day i got the 14's in the mail, i noticed a difference. i wrote the company i bought them from and they gave me the run down on what changed this year. apparently, i'm not the first to complain. i had already run 50+ miles in them, and the company told me i could send them back. but i decided to stick it out. i'm loyal like that. and well... i've always had something to complain about with this model - especially after long runs.
when i ran the sivler comet marathon 4 weeks ago, something with the left shoe kept digging into the tender area below the outside area of my ankle. it hurt. i bent the shoe to flex it a little to see if it would give. i ran with them at the chickamauga marathon 2 weeks ago. and the same thing happened half way through. it hurt. bad. and it was tender in that area for a few days after. so annoying.
so now... i'm feeling like i need to try a new shoe or a new brand. and it's killing me! i

I wish they wouldn't change shoes. It's a lot of work to find new favorites. Looks like a good come-back week for you!
I"m an Asics loyal as well. A ways back, that happened to me (can't remember exact model), but the latest model was just different. I stayed w/ Asics, but moved to GT series and like you have moved through GT1010's, 1030's, 2060's, etc. They work so I keep coming back.
