take two

so after i ran 5 miles thursday afternoon, i went to the gym that evening and pushed hard on leg weights. i was so sore friday that i skipped my 3 mile tempo run. so yesterday morning was stormy, but there was a break in the rain according to the radar(or so i thought). so i headed out for a 6 mile run. the clouds were high and it just seemed like a gray day. i had my ipod this time but kept the volume down low so i could hear thunder - just in case... i got to mile 3 and lo and behold i hear the rumble. within a few seconds after that, the tornado siren on a golf course i just ran past started to blare. ( i think that was to warn the golfers to clear the course, not of an actual tornado.) i got my phone out of my spibelt and started to call home - but my man's call came in faster than i could dial. he heard the thunder, and was on his way to get me. i booked it down a street where i knew there was a n'hood clubhouse and hid under the stoop for a few minutes until he arrived. another break from the rain never came so i didn't get to finish that run. but today, i needed a run. so i headed to the greenway around dinner time. my older daughter came with me on her bike as i ran 6 miles. she noticed this tree growing sideways and wanted me to take a picture of it. we had fun!

Too bad about the weather interrupting your run, but you were determined and got it done anyway - great!
