8 miles and a flat tire

i ran 3 miles on the treadmill yesterday and wondered when it was going to be over.  just wanted to get it done.  one of those kinds of runs.  afterward, i did some upper body weights and took out my running frustrations on the machines.  i'm sore today!  today i ran 8 miles at the greenway with 3 of my kiddie's biking by my side.  it was fun.  hotso humid.  i was dripping by the first mile. i was SO glad i had a washcloth in hand the whole run. by mile 3 i knew i could never ever wear my shoes for a long run, ever again.  the bottoms are really showing some wear and the miles are getting up there. time to fork it over.  my shins will be happy once i do. by mile 4 my stomach was just growling. i had a GU which never tasted soooo epically good. my hair is shorter than last summer and i could not believe how much the humidity made it afro out.  it required extra extra conditioner.  so, after the run, i load the bikes in the van, wipe down my sweaty legs, arms, face, etc. and start to leave the gravel parking lot.  i get to the road and within a hundred feet i knew something was amiss with the car.  i get out and find a front tire going flat fast.  call my man. he's on his way.  there were about a dozen men/teen boys getting ready to hit the trail - all within ten feet of the van  - and not one asked if i needed help. grrr. i had my cell in hand so maybe they assumed help was on the way.  who knows.  but my kids were nervous and i was so hot, sweaty, hungry, and trying to make sure cars flying would take caution.  in the end, the kiddies were super troopers and i learned hands on how to change a flat. it's all good.

The humidity sure has arrived. And in full force! Glad your hubs was able to come to your rescue!

Wow, can't believe that none of those guys stopped to help. I wouldn't have a clue how to change a flat!
