interval training is not for sissy's

so today, on the spring training schedule, interval training started.  one word - UGH. wow.  that was H.A.R.D. stuff.  i ran 3 miles at a decent pace to the local high school track.  i ran straight to the track and did 8x200's.  the first one was fun.  the second one, i felt done.  the added killer ingredient was running against the wind and 5 o'clock sun when i had to sprint. i know i know, i'm SO whining.  i said to my man, how in the world am i ever going to get up to what the schedule says by week 10, 11 and 12?  i can't let my mind go there right now.  the good part about this run, is i could feel the burning - in my quads, booty and lungs.  that can only be a good thing.

the best part about today, is that my new shoes came.  yeah!!!  i wore them for my 5 mile run today and i felt like i was running on a cloud again.  it was fun to compare them to my other ones, and i how i truly ran them down.  good stuff.  (yes, that's salty sweat on my shins - love a good sweat!)  i'm keeping an eye on my 2nd toenail on my left foot.  i think it may fall off.  it's been really hurting the past few days and now it's turning purple.  grrr....

Yeah! I love getting new shoes (the only part I don't like is that they seem so WHITE at first!) :) Great pic of your shoes!

I think I may lose the same toenail - thanks to Big Sur. Oh well, they grow back!

You're smart not to worry about what you'll need to run in a few weeks. Sounds like you had a good, hard run!

thanks you all!!! you're sooo encouraging!

tina, do you think the purple toenails are from hills? with all these hill repeats (and i have not run downhills until the past 6 weeks) makes me wonder if that is a contributor?
