i braved the cold weather today. actually, it warmed up some compared to yesterday. my 11.5yo and i left the house this afternoon when the thermometer said 40 degrees. i just have not adjusted to this cold weather yet. we got to the greenway and i was bummed to find it mostly shaded. it felt so much colder.
i ran 12 miles. the first 6 i ran in 1:03, the second 6 miles in 58 minutes to finish with a 2:01:40 finish! i was soooo excited. i concentrated the entire time on my breathing. after mile 1, i got a side stitch so i walked for a minute, pressed my hand upward in the stitch (i read about that at Runners World website) and concentrated on breathing out after every second step with my left foot. can i just tell you how much energy that took for me to focus on?!! my legs were quite cold at the end of the run but i felt great overall. :)
