sick week :(

the greenway in february!

monday - 5 miles full of fartleks. i was really dragging to get out the door. feeling so so tired. and sometimes the hardest thing is just getting out the door! so i just kept telling myself i'd feel so much better once i got this run done. and i do. and i saw the most beautiful hawk ever on my run. so so worth it!

wednesday - i've been so tired the past few days and can feel a cold coming on so i rested yesterday. didn't feel so bad today so i gave the kids a day of from school and took them to the greenway and ran 10 miles as they biked. it was a breezy yet nice sunny day! i could tell my body was getting tired towards the end so i'm going to rest a day or two before doing the 20 miler on the schedule.

these kept falling off the trees & hitting me on the trail!
saturday - rested the past two days from running. thursday i just felt yucky. friday a little better but i'm battling the yearly cold and hope this one won't be as bad as the virus i got last february. that's the last time i got a full on cold/cough/aches... you catch the drift! i ran 5 miles today which felt hard. it literally went from 60 earlier this week to the coldest it's been since early jan. we've been spoiled here with a mild warm winter thus far! today's run was cold, windy and *sprinkled with flurries* i wore my balaclava for the first time and got pelted by these little prickly things (the name for them has escaped my brain!). still felt a little eh so i'll keep planning to hold off the 20 mile run until monday or tuesday.

Those look kind of painful! Saw a runner wearing a balaclava today while I wore shorts! Flurries? It must be freezing there! Get well soon!

I saw a man wearing shorts and a thin long sleve shirt. so... maybe my blood is thinning!!! The wind was bitter!!

I'm sorry you're getting sick. Smart call resting to help fend it off. Hope it doesn't hot you too hard.
Like those sweet gum balls! I have a sweet gum tree in my front yard and those prickly things can be trouble makers! If they aren't dropping on your head they're getting stuck in the sole of your running shoes! Or shooting around the yard like canon balls whe you mow!
