tuesday - 5 easy pace miles - so hot. sometimes i think the heat isn't so bad. today i was done with it. can't wait for it to "cool" off later this week (upper 80's)
wednesday - 6 somewhat tempo miles - at 2:30 - heat of the day because that's the best i could do today! i survived since it was only 87! :)
thursday - 4 miles in the warm, thick and humid misty air! my ITB felt a little tight so i walked up the hills to not aggravate it. at least it was 76. :)
saturday - threw on my camelback and went for a run. wasn't sure if i was going to do 10, 12, or 15. ended up running 15. new route and really liked it. i ran out of water at mile 12.7 - drank up all 70 ounces in my camelback since it was that hot and so steamy! i had actually brought $2 in case i needed some sort of fuel as i only had 2 gels left at home. but instead i stopped by a cvs at mile 14 and grabbed a gatorade. it never tasted better!!
earlier this week, i tried to get in a marathon that was took place tonight ("make it by midnight") but it was full. if i had written two days earlier, the race director said they could have gotten me in. oh well. and i tried to get in a "hot to trot" race in a couple weeks (run up to 8 hours/trail- had to quality and i did since i just ran a 50K in the heat and know how to take salt pills!) but, it too, was full.
so..i think i'll just maintain and focus on one more marathon, 50K and 40 miler i have in mind later this fall. unless, something comes up!

i love your posts! :) love to hear your enthusiasm for running!
P & I are going to sign up for the North Face Endurance Challenge in October. google it. They've got all kinds of distances ... we're going for the 10k.
That's a lot of fun races to look forward to!
