| new shoes - i like them even better than my asics nimbus :) |
the last week of feb i ran twice - 4 miles on monday and a 5 mile run on wednesday (2/27). then it was hurry scurry to pack and get moved. we moved to our new place on march 1st.
tuesday -(3/5) i ran 5 hilly miles on a windy, balmy day. the weather was mild yet windy as a cold front was headed our way. the new route has hills. i like hills. but these hills are steeper and made my quads burn! wow!
thursday - (3/7) i ran 5 miles and tried to find a flatter route. i meet two ladies who are runners but were walking that day. they were so sweet and told me of some great places to run around my new surroundings and assured me it was a great, safe area to run.
sunday - 5 miles in spring like weather!! yay, it's almost here! and yay for the time change! i love how it's getting dark later.
i've been running with a stick - actually, a broom stick sans broom! the lady who lived here told me there were some big dogs that run around loose from time to time.she mentioned that they like to run up to her and bark, show their teeth now and then. so my man got me a good stick...just in case. i'm sure i look funny running with it, but it's best to be on the safe side. and the ladies i meet a few days ago mentioned something about dogs and figured that's why i had a stick. but they had not seen them for some time now. so i guess it's best to play it safe for now.

Sounds like life is a great big adventure right now! Watch out for those dogs! I have been approach several times and have a whole routine I go through to get them to leave me alone . Be carful girl! Those hills are going to make you super speedy!
Too bad about the stick and the dogs. Stray dogs is one problem about living in the country - I'm guessing you are, anyway. I hope you're enjoying your new house!
