last thursday, i ran 3.5 miles with my son - so fun! i was planning to do a long run saturday but now that soccer season is in full gear and games at different times, its becoming harder to schedule a long run. i will have to get up early for such runs... sigh.so today i ran 8 miles. i was planning on just 6 but it was so nice out and i felt good. i just wish i had a GU with me. i really needed it and water around mile 5 but i made it. melted all of my frustrations away (for now!). LOVE that about running! i've been running by this beautiful dog for the past 6 years. there used to be two of them. they would hang out in the front yard on nice days. i haven't seen the other one in quite some time. it's sad to see him alone now. :(
UPDATE - saw a link on Ryan Halls twitter page to an interview he had with Running Times magazine. I loved it!

so fun that you got to run w/ B. about the long runs... sometimes i felt like doing them on saturday was so hard! a few times i ended up doing mine on monday afternoons, leaving S in charge and dinner ready to go for daddy to get together when he got home. i'm sure you'll find a creative solution!

It would be hard to work long runs around a busy family schedule. Maybe the other dog is just inside beside the fireplace or enjoying the air conditioning, depending on the weather!
Way to fit your running miles into a busy schedule. I think it's so cool that you get to run with your son! And what a beautiful dog, I'm soooooo sad for him to be by himself. Makes me think of when one of my two dogs is gone. :(
