what a beautiful sunshiney day it was! i was planning to run 8 but woke up feeling like i wanted to run 10. love days like that! i gathered up my fuel for a semi long run. i had 20 oz. of water on the nathan fuel belt, mace, spf15 for my lips (they will blister if i don't have them protected), some yummy GU's, and a very nasty tasting espresso flavor gel by hammer nutrition. it was h.a.r.d. to swallow down. never will i buy that one again. i don't recommend it. oh, and my biofreeze for my aching left shin. boy did that come in handy. see that pink stainless steel water container? it's my bff. i call it the pink beast. i had a gift card to llbean and redeemed it last month for that 40oz sucka. best thing ever. i drink two of those a day. i love my pink beast. it's awesome. (i left it in the car for after the run.)
so, we hit the trail by 10am. first thing i noticed is how it's spring is so present there. it's been a very.long.winter here this year. when i got to my favorite spot on the trail, i just soaked in how everything there is bursting to life. so beautifully symbolic. i cannot wait to see it in full bloom.

my son is usually my biking knight. he comes along and bikes near me when i run on the greenway since i hate to run alone in parks. but he was determined to run with me today. i was worried he wasn't hydrated enough. he drank some water from my pink beast and i gave him one of my water bottles. so we each had 10oz of water for 10 miles and did just fine. thank GOD! here he is at the half way point. he's got that 'this is no sweat mom' look on his face! :)

we had fun with the camera here and there on the run. i took pics of scenery, he took pics of me. he caught me rubbing on some biofreeze on my shins. wow. that really masked the pain. and whats so weird, is that the last 4 miles of the run, it stopped hurting and has not bothered me all day. it's tender but not sore when i walk as it has been. go figure. at least i will rest it tomorrow. we finished seven minutes shy of two hours. it was a terrific ten miler. gotta love those. :)

Fun pics! Great to run with your son! Gingerbread and Choc. Mint Gu - like those! I have the same spray - always run with it. I like the colorful font you're using here and there. Happy Easter!
