if one could run without getting tired i don't think one would often want to do anything else. ~ c.s. lewis

back on solid ground!
we are back after being away for 10 days. it's good to be home. let's see where i left off... last sat. we went hiking - about 4 miles of some moderate steep hiking (view to the left). it was great! then i ran 4 miles that evening. i was t.i.r.e.d. i took off sunday and monday, and tuesday, and wednesday... didnt want to take off that many days. time just did not permit running at all. i am so thankful i was able to get in all of my runs the week prior. we arrived home late wed. so i got back on track today. i'm on week 10 of spring training but am not too stressed about being "off schedule". i truly noticed a difference tonight from running on packed gravel to asphalt and concrete sidewalks. in a way i felt stronger and a little faster, but couldn't tell by my time. i went from running a flat road to my hilly route. i also noticed that by the end of the 5 mile run, my right shin had a small twinge. that's one thing that didn't bother me too much when running on gravel. hmmm... one things for sure though, i ran in some serious heat and humidity last week and have never sweat so mighty. it was actually awesome! lets see if i say that again!

Glad you had a nice vacation! With the humidity, at least we're not loaded down with warm winter clothes! ; )
