| we passed this dog on the road - what a hoot! |
this morning everything felt fine. i ate some granola and headed out an hour later. the pain was very dull but i figured i'd at least walk. so i warmed up walking for 5 min. and then repeated running 5 min and walking 1 min. the pain continued to be dull but not enough to make me want to stop. and just like that between mile 2 and 3, it went away. i felt so good. i was aiming to run 6 but it turned into 8. and the pain has subsided all day. i'm just not sure what this could be. i'll still be cautious and careful as i follow week 2 of training next week. i'm just full of joy and so grateful that i had a successful long run today. :)

Fun picture - good thing you had your camera with you!
Sounds like you are getting better! I have been so busy I haven't been able to read blogs. :( But I just got all caught up on all your posts. :) You mentioned you have dealt with ITB before, was it hip pain or knee pain? You might be experiencing ITB now in your hip, have you been trying IT stretches for it? Just curious, disregard if I'm completely off. Ibuprofen for inflammation? Hope the marathon training continues well and the hip pain disappears completely. :)
so good to hear!!
i'm just catching up and sorry to hear of your struggles. :( glad things are a little better - i'll be praying for pain-free runs and for this to not mess with your head! you can DO it!
tina, that picture was when we were driving somewhere recently. i have missed a few good shots the past week with my camera at home. :( time to put it back in the spibelt!
kristen, my ITB pain showed up the side my left thigh then into the left side of my knee last fall. no problems with it since i let it heal. now the hip pain on my right side. doing all sorts of stretching and rolling now. and some advil for when it's bad or i want to be safer. ugh. i'm hoping it goes away FAST!!!
thanks you all for your sweet and encouraging comments!
