yesterday morning i was mentally ready to run 10. i was going to run 5 as the schedule said, but i just wanted to get that 10 miler done and out of the way. it was nice and crisp outside - fall is in the air!. i got school done with the 3 younger kiddies and we headed to the greenway. they biked while i ran. i wore my tights since it was that cool. around mile 7 i wished i had shorts on. but the shaded parts of the trail kept me comfortable for the most part. my legs reminded me towards the end of the run that i just ran 14 on saturday. i am so not used to this weather change. it's shocking. i was so used to the scorching heat. now i have to come up with a new plan for hydrating. i got by with 30oz of water yesterday with it being 60 degrees. not sure if that was enough though.
i ran 5 miles today on the dreadmill at the gym. at first i was dying. then half way into it, i got into a groove and it was over before i knew it. i appreciated the softer surface for sure.
i am so blessed by my blogging friends and their advice and support. thank you for your encouraging comments and emails. it really helps!

thank you amanda, my dallas cowboys friend for your texts and emails, too. i treasure our cowboy and indian friendship! ;) she and wendy ran chicago last year and i have soaked up their experience as well. now she's about to have baby #4 - yes, much harder than running a marathon!

You are almost there! This is the most exciting part of training - your goal is so close you can almost touch it! Enjoy every minute of it, including this blessing of cooler weather. It will make you faster!
I can hardly believe how nice and cool it is lately. I wore running capris today instead of shorts.
