happy dance!

i went to the gym monday night and tried 15 min. on the bike and 15 min. on the elliptical. it wasn't comfortable so i did some weights and went home.

my friend who is a physical therapist came by and looked at my sore area tuesday. she did all sorts of things and has no idea what it could be. the good news is it doesn't seem to be anything serious. it may just be tight or irritated little tendons that go over the knee. she just said to rest it when it hurt, ice and use aleve.

so i rested that sore spot T,W,TH and it felt just fine. i could not resist the urge to go the gym today. i thought i'd try to gently run 3. i end up on a treadmill next to a lady who was busting out 8.5mph. i don't compete with others but wow, she made me hungry! so i ran a very comfy 5.5 to 6mph pace and walked a minute after each half mile. at times that spot hurt just a teeny tiny bit but not enough to make me think i should stop. i was able to run 4 miles instead. wanted to keep going, felt like i could, but knew i needed to have a conservative approach. afterward, i did weights. and what's great is how good it feels still! i don't get it.

i finished Meb's book Run To Overcome. i highly recommend it. he is a wonderful person and very inspiring athlete. his story of overcoming is just beautiful. i'm now reading a book called Run: The Mind - Body Method of Running by Feel. i'm on chapter 2 and am finding it very interesting. maybe this will help me with my little sore spot! who knows!!
