interesting reads:
i don't think i could try this. i love my veggies soo much and would miss them terribly!
but i do want to read Racing Weight
i need a race. a goal. a challenge. i need my fire lit. most marathons in my area are not happening until the fall. so i'm looking at this trail marathon. never ran trail before. but it looks like fun! that gives me 30 l-o-n-g weeks to fully train for something i am unfamiliar with. that should be plenty of time! i can follow the 12 week spring training schedule again which will lead right into the 18 week marathon schedule. having that on paper in front of me will light my fire. i may just go find a match right now... ; )

i like the article you link on weight loss - the one that says simplicity is a virtue. i've done different things before, but the 30lbs i lost 2 years ago was doing just that- making up a simple set of rules i knew i could stick with. and mine were almost exactly the same as his top ones. i used to call it "making better decisions." i can't handle complex right now. ;)
and i'm SO with you on needing a goal! the warrior dash is May 14 and i need to get my fanny in gear. need to print a schedule sothat i'll have something to check off!
simplicity - it always boils down to that one simple word and way of things! can i get an amen?!
I have a short 4 mile race coming up, but those long ones are the more fun to look forward to. A trail marathon is a great idea - forest running is my favorite!
