| my daughter took this pic during the run. :) |
i headed out to the
greenway yesterday afternoon for a
10 mile run with my 12yo daughter biking along. it was
blustery as
storms were going to push through that evening. but the temps were a nice 70 degrees. the first 8 miles i was able to keep a pace of 10 min miles and 1 min of walking after each one. my legs felt tight, quads were getting sore, and lower back was hurting progressively over the miles. by mile 8, my time fell apart and i was just cooked, done, finished, sore by mile 10. today, i'm sore. and that's been a rare thing for me.
thinking i need to take a couple days off, roll a lot, cut back on hills next week, and run flat routes instead. sometimes, this is just the way it goes.

good call to listen to your body.
i love how you take your kids w/you so often!
i hate runs like that! of course, it happens to me on much shorter runs. ;) i think you are wise. give your body a break and rest/ take the flat route for a while.
i also love how you take your kiddos - i'm too selfish much of the time - my runs are my only alone time some days.
Yep! sounds like you need a break and a good amount of stretching. No more hills for you for a little while, okay. 1 week will make such a difference in how you're feeling right now. Don't sweat it Kate, you will be back on track and better after a little recovery time!
I concur, rest! Sometimes a little rest is just what you need.
And maybe a massage! :o)
